Huawei’s long-anticipated tri-fold smartphone, officially named the Mate XT, is set to debut in China on September 10. A recently surfaced image claims to provide a hands-on look at one side of the device. However, the authenticity of the image remains questionable, even according to the original Chinese source.
Given that the Mate XT will be the first-ever tri-fold smartphone, it’s challenging to determine how accurate this leaked image is. It might be a true representation, or it might not. Fortunately, with the official reveal just a week away, there isn’t much longer to wait for confirmed details.

The purported Mate XT in the leak is said to be an engineering prototype, boasting 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It’s likely that Huawei will offer other RAM and storage configurations when the device officially launches. The phone was reportedly listed on a second-hand sales platform in China for a hefty price of CNY 16,888, which currently converts to approximately $2,371 or €2,147.
As a groundbreaking device, the Mate XT is expected to come with a premium price tag, so it’s no surprise that it won’t be cheap.
